Student Veterans Association of America

The Student Veterans of America is a national network of college and university chapters with the goal of empowering student veterans and military-connected students to achieve their greatest potential. The Mount's chapter has the goals of supporting student veterans and military-connected students and engaging in outreach to the larger veterans community.

Learning Services

Learning Services at Mount St. Mary's University provides academic support to every veteran and military-connected student as they begin, or transition back to, life as a college student. Our goal is for every student is to become confident learners and to find academic success. While we acknowledge that the ultimate responsibility for success rests with the student, our Learning Services team is aware of the unique challenges faced by veterans and military-connected students and offers support through one-on-one academic skills sessions, both in-person and via Zoom. Learning Services also provides reasonable academic accommodations to eligible students with documented disabilities.

Counseling Services

Counseling Services is a health services office that aims to support students in achieving success in areas of academics and personal growth through short-term, outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment, educational presentations, and collaboration with other student support services at Mount St. Mary’s University. Counseling Services works to enable students to address behavioral and emotional concerns so they are able to take full advantage of the academic and social opportunities of their college experience The office provides individual counseling, group counseling, and walk-in services during office hours. All support provided by Counseling Services is free of charge. Counseling Services provides counseling during the fall and spring semesters.

The Mount proudly welcomes veteran students. We recognize and value the sacrifices you and your family have made to serve selflessly and will make every effort to help make your transition to college as easy as possible. We work with veteran students in determining the financial aid opportunities, including the Yellow Ribbon Program, that may be available based on eligibility.
