Alumni Engagement-Phonathon Caller

Job Description

Phonathon callers will contact alumni, parents and friends-prospects, of the Mount through phone and written communications. Callers will work to build a rapport with the prospect, update any outdated contact information, answer questions, and most importantly educate prospects about the Mount Annual Fund and the importance of supporting the university through monetary donations. Callers should be active listeners and be able to respond appropriately and sympathetically. It is crucial that students maintain discretion since they will be handling confidential information.


  • Able to articulate clearly with good communication skills.
  • Reliable and trustworthy.
  • Comfortable on the phone speaking with strangers.
  • Personable and friendly.
  • Available to work at least two shifts a week.

  • Flexible schedule based off of availability (with ample notice and communication).
  • Work on campus and get off all university breaks.
  • Work with your peers in a comfortable environment.
  • Build your resume and skill set, including communication, negotiation and cold calling.
  • Opportunities for advancement - experienced students can work as Student Managers.


We will be calling alumni a maximum four days a week, calling Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Each student must work at least two shifts a week and may not exceed nine hours a week. The calling schedule is as follows:

  • Monday 6-9 p.m.
  • Tuesday 6-9 p.m.
  • Wednesday 5-8 p.m.
  • Thursday 6-9 p.m.
  • Exception being Feb. 20: 6-9 p.m.


Maryland Minimum Wage: $11.75/per hour.
