Costs

The initial card is free but if you lose your card, there is a $15 replacement fee that must be paid at the time of purchase. The Mount card is not transferable to another student. If your card is lost or stolen, deactivate the card by logging onto the MOUNTcard website, by emailing the MOUNTCard office, or contacting Public Safety. A temporary card can be issued by Public Safety during non-business hours and is good until the following business day.

Mount Money

Mount Money is the on-campus declining balance account. Mount Money is the same as cash and is accepted at many locations on campus. You can purchase items such as books, supplies and clothing from the Mount bookstore, postage at the on-campus Post Office, snacks and drinks from various vending machines, fitness classes, movie passes, trips offered by various offices, or food and grocery items at our on-campus dining facilities. Mount Money rolls over from semester to semester and year to year. The balance is refunded when a student graduates or leaves the university, less a $15.00 refund processing fee.

Flex Dollars

Flex Dollars* are for your flexible dining account, and may be used in Patriot Hall, the Mount Cafe, the Mount Bookstore (grocery items only) and Saxbys. Purchases made in Patriot Hall and the Mount Cafe are tax-free when using flex dollars. All meal plans include varying amounts of flex dollars, but you can still use flex dollars even if you opted out of having a meal plan. You may deposit funds into your flex dollars account at any time during the semester. Deposits can be made by debit/credit card at msmary.edu/mymountcard or by cash/check in the Office of Accounting and Finance. Please do not deposit funds before the start of the semester. Flex dollars will roll over from the fall semester to the spring semester. Unused flex dollars are forfeited at the end of each spring semester.

Manage Your MOUNTCard

Manage your money by signing up for the MOUNTCard website where you can add money, check balances, set alerts and budget your MountMoney, meal plans and flex dollars from one place.

A Note About Safety for Parents

Parents, you can feel safe knowing that your student's residence hall is only accessible with the MOUNTCard, and that you can always add money to the card online for books, activities, food and bills. Unused Mount Money will roll over from semester to semester, and year to year. Flex dollars, used for meals, will only roll over from semester to semester. Any unused flex dollars remaining at the end of the spring semester will be forfeited.
